On November 1, 2016, Gangolli News was born from a vision to address the scarcity of local news in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts. We began as a blog, sharing authentic stories about our coastal communities. On December 12, 2016, we launched our Facebook page, amplifying our reach through social media and blogging platforms.
Recognizing the need for a dedicated news portal, we explored various options and chose the name Gangolli News, reflecting our central role in the coastal belt. Today, we are a trusted digital platform, blending our legacy of grassroots reporting with modern technology to deliver impactful news and cultural insights.
As a non-commercial platform, we are committed to delivering scam-free, transparent journalism that serves the public interest. Our bilingual approach—Kannada for current affairs and English for educational and youth-oriented content—ensures accessibility and relevance for all readers.
