Kota, April 21, 2026: Retired Principal Ro. Balakrishna Shetty emphasized that just as the Bhagavad Gita, Quran, and Bible are sacred to their respective faiths, the Constitution is the supreme text for the nation that embraces all religions. He was delivering a keynote address during the Ambedkar Jayanti program organized at the Saligrama Rotary Club.

Addressing the gathering, Shetty highlighted that the Indian Constitution provides a place of dignity not only for humans but for every element of nature. He noted that India, with a population of 142 crore—representing about 17.75% of the world’s population—is a land of immense diversity. Drafting a constitution for such a multifaceted nation was an extraordinary task.

He further explained that in a country that once comprised 543 princely states, the Constitution played a pivotal role in clearly defining state boundaries and maintaining national integrity amidst changing borders. The program was presided over by Rotary Club President Ro. Yogeesh. Other dignitaries present included Treasurer Chandra Poojary, former President Thimma Poojary, Devendra Patugar, and Rajendra Suvarna. Retired Principal Krishna Kanchan introduced the speaker, and Secretary Sharanaiah Hiremath delivered the vote of thanks.
