Bengaluru, April 16, 2026: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru has busted an illegal racket involved in selling IPL tickets at exorbitant prices in the black market. One person, who was working at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, has been arrested in connection with the case.

Acting on a tip-off during the RCB vs Lucknow Super Giants match held on April 15, the Special Investigation Team of the CCB conducted a probe. Investigations revealed that the accused used the names of firms like ‘Swastik Heavy Engineering’ and ‘Dharani Computers’ to purchase 100 tickets from TicketGenie and sold them illegally to the public.

The probe further uncovered that during the RCB vs CSK match on March 28, 81 tickets worth ₹ 6.60 lakh were sold in a similar fraudulent manner. In total, the racket has reportedly sold 181 tickets worth ₹ 17,52,600/- in the black market during the current IPL season. The police have taken the accused into custody and are further investigating the involvement of other individuals and companies linked to this illegal operation.
