Bhatkal, June 20, 2026: In a strict move to maintain public peace and communal harmony, the District Superintendent of Police has passed an order externing a 46-year-old resident of Bhatkal to Raichur district for a period of six months.

The individual subjected to the externment order has been identified as Ismail Havva (46), a resident of Musanagar, Siddique Street, Bhatkal. According to police records, Ismail faces a total of seven criminal cases registered against him at the Bhatkal Town Police Station under the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act. Out of these seven cases, he has already been convicted in two, while the remaining five cases are currently pending trial in court.

Citing his extensive criminal history, the local police highlighted in their report that his presence could pose a significant threat to law and order, public peace, and social harmony in Bhatkal town and surrounding areas. Consequently, the Bhatkal Town Police Inspector submitted an externment proposal to the Special Executive Magistrate and District Superintendent of Police.
