Bhatkal: Two Arrested for Stealing from Temple Donation Box

Bhatkal, August 31, 2025 – Bhatkal police have arrested two individuals, Darshan (son of Manjunath Naik, Karagadde, Bhatkal) and Narayan (son of Nagappa Gudihittala, Shirali, Bhatkal), for stealing from donation boxes at Shri Kanchina Durga Parameshwari Temple. The theft occurred on the night of August 28, 2025, when the accused broke the temple door’s lock, entered, and stole cash from the donation boxes. A case was registered at Bhatkal police station.

Following an investigation, the police successfully apprehended the accused and recovered items worth ₹1,20,030, including the two-wheeler used in the crime. The suspects were presented before the court and remanded to judicial custody. Senior officials commended the police team for their effective handling of the case.
