GANGOLLI: In a dramatic turn of events, a venomous Spectacled Cobra narrowly escaped being crushed under a bus wheel, only to seek refuge inside the back seat of a moving Bajaj Pulsar 220F motorcycle. The unusual incident took place near the Gujjadi bus stand on Friday evening and culminated in a successful rescue and medical aid operation by expert snake handler Nagaraj of Gangolli.

The motorcycle involved belongs to Pradeep, a resident of Gangolli. According to eyewitnesses, the cobra was attempting to cross the road near the Gujjadi bus stand when it suddenly came in contact with the wheel of a passing bus. Startled and fleeing for its life, the reptile instantly dashed toward the opposite side of the road and slithered directly into Pradeep’s moving Pulsar 220F motorcycle, tightly embedding itself behind the passenger back seat.

The sudden entry of a venomous snake into a moving bike triggered panic among commuters. The vehicle was brought to a halt, and the locals promptly alerted renowned reptile rescuer Nagaraj from Light House, Gangolli.

Arriving swiftly at the location, Nagaraj meticulously unscrewed and removed the side covers and fiber fairings of the Pulsar bike to reach the reptile. Upon extraction, it was found that the cobra had sustained minor injuries from its initial impact with the bus wheel. Demonstrating great care, Nagaraj administered immediate first-aid medical treatment to the injured snake on the spot before placing it into the rescue bag.

The rescuer confirmed that after providing necessary treatment, the cobra was relocated and released into its natural habitat away from human settlements.
