Gangolli, September 28, 2025 – In a daring rescue, KND staff Nishant Kharvi saved two engineering students from drowning in the rough waves off Maravanthe Beach, with local fisherman Vishnu Kharvi’s assistance. The incident occurred near Shri Varahaswami Temple on Friday evening, where the Bengaluru-based group of seven had come for a trip.

The students, part of the seven-member engineering student team, had entered the sea but were swept away by powerful waves, with one nearly drowning. Nishant, spotting the danger, jumped in and pulled them to safety, braving the turbulent waters.

PSI Pavan Naik from Gangolli, ASI Manjunath from the Coast Guard, and constables Savita, Raghavendra, and others visited the site.
