GANGOLLI: A massive python crawled into the residential premises of a local resident named Vanaja near the Ram Mandir in Gangolli on Friday evening, triggering intense panic among family members and neighbors before being safely captured by reptile experts.

Upon spotting the giant python near her house, a panicked Vanaja immediately contacted well-known snake expert Madi Nagaraj Kharvi. Responding swiftly to the distress call, Nagaraj Kharvi, along with Ganesh Kharvi, rushed to the spot with rescue gear. Demonstrating technical precision, the duo systematically cornered the heavy reptile and rescued it safely without causing it any bodily injury. The python was later handed over to the Forest Department officials for relocation.

During the rescue operation, Radha, the coordinator of the Gangolli Shaurya Disaster Management Team, along with her team members and local residents, extended excellent support to ensure a smooth operation.

Speaking after the rescue, snake expert Madi Nagaraj Kharvi noted that pythons are increasingly being spotted in heavily populated residential areas and human settlements in recent times. He cautioned villagers and locals to remain highly vigilant, particularly during the night hours, to avoid accidental encounters.
