GANGOLLI: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 58-year-old farmer died after accidentally falling from a coconut tree at Belladi in Senapura village on Monday evening, February 3.

The Incident: The deceased has been identified as Rajiva Shetty, a resident of Belladi. According to sources, Shetty, who looked after his own agricultural land, had climbed a coconut tree in his backyard to harvest coconuts. While climbing, he reportedly lost his footing and fell to the ground.

Declared Dead on Arrival: Shetty sustained severe injuries from the impact of the fall. Although family members and locals rushed him to a private hospital in Kundapura, he tragically succumbed to his injuries while in transit.

The Gangolli police have registered a case regarding the accidental death and are currently looking into the details.
