Gujjadi, January 22, 2026 :In a commendable initiative to enhance road safety in the Gujjadi Gram Panchayat limits, Swarna Jewellers donated a total of 8 barricades to help regulate traffic and prevent accidents at key junctions.
The donation was handed over in the presence of Gangolli Police Station Sub-Inspector Pavan Kumar. Swarna Jewellers Manager Uday Kumar, Gujjadi Gram Panchayat President Thammayya Devadiga, PDO Shobha R., Panchayat Secretary Shakuntala Madhav, other panchayat members, officials, and members of public participated in the event.
The panchayat had repeatedly appealed for barricades due to frequent accidents caused by heavy vehicle movement from directions including Gujjadi, Gangolli, Trasi, and Mullikatte. Drivers and pedestrians faced significant risks at these busy spots for many years.
The donated barricades have been strategically placed at the following locations:
- 2 barricades near Sangameshwara Temple
- 2 barricades near the Auto Rickshaw Stand
- 2 barricades near Mullikatte Junction
- 2 barricades near the school
Speaking on the occasion, Gram Panchayat President Thammayya Devadiga said: “We had approached Swarna Jewellers multiple times with our request for traffic control measures. They responded positively and donated the barricades. We are grateful to Swarna Jewellers for their support in improving safety for our residents.”
PDO Shobha R. added: “Rohidas, Owner Deepak Ramadas Nayak and Manager Uday Kumar from Swarna Jewellers responded positively to our appeal. The barricades have been officially handed over to Gangolli Police Station for installation and use.”
Panchayat Secretary Shakuntala Madhav expressed thanks to all participants and Swarna Jewellers for their contribution toward community safety.
