Bengaluru, June 29: The Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Government of Karnataka, has invited online applications for fresh admissions to post-metric hostels (for general degree courses) operating across all districts in the state. Eligible male and female students belonging to Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and other communities pursuing general degree courses can apply for the academic year 2026-27.

Annual Family Income Limit:

Category-1, Scheduled Castes (SC), and Scheduled Tribes (ST): Rs. 2.50 Lakh
Category-2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, and other Backward Classes: Rs. 1.00 Lakh

Eligible candidates must mandatory submit their applications online through the official portal: https://shp.karnataka.gov.in/bcwd
The final date for submitting online applications is July 20, 2026.
