Bengaluru, June 30: The Karnataka State Police (KSP) has officially initiated the online application process for the recruitment of 1,600 Armed Police Constable (CAR/DAR) vacancies across the state. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official portal of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

According to the official notification, out of the total 1,600 announced vacancies, 1,421 posts are allocated under the General Karnataka division, while the remaining 179 positions are reserved under the Kalyana Karnataka division. The registration link became active on June 22, 2026, and the final deadline to submit the completed application forms is July 22, 2026. While the application form submission closes on July 22, candidates are permitted to complete their fee payments up to July 24, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit: Applicants who have successfully passed the Pre-University Course (PUC), Class 12, or any equivalent examination from a recognized educational board or institution are eligible to apply. Candidates must possess their qualifying marks card on or before the application deadline; individuals awaiting final results are not eligible. Additionally, candidates must have studied Kannada as either their first or second language at the SSLC level or cleared the Kannada language examination administered by KEA. The minimum age limit is set at 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 33 years as of July 22, 2026. The state government has introduced a one-time upper age relaxation of five years for eligible candidates. Ex-servicemen will receive an additional three-year relaxation over their military service period. As per government norms, a 10 per cent quota is reserved for ex-servicemen and eligible dependent family members of personnel who died or became permanently disabled while in active duty.

Police Constable (Civil) Notification:

Application Fee, Exam Date, and Salary: Candidates under the General category are required to pay an application fee of ₹500, whereas all other reserved category applicants must pay ₹250. Selected candidates for the Armed Police Constable roles will receive a monthly salary scale ranging from ₹37,500 to ₹76,100. KEA will conduct the competitive written examination for the applicants on September 6, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon.
