A fatal car accident in the Karwar tunnel on September 2, 2025, claimed the life of Ranjit Kumar Vishwanath Naik (35) from Puttur when his Alto car collided with another vehicle during an overtaking attempt. Four occupants of the other car from Chikkaballapur sustained minor injuries and are receiving treatment at Karwar KRIMS Hospital. The Karwar Traffic Police are investigating the case.
