Bengaluru, June 30: The Karnataka State Police (KSP) has officially issued a recruitment notification for the enlistment of 3,991 Police Constable vacancies across the state. The recruitment framework is being managed electronically through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) admission portal. The online submission window opened on June 8, 2026, and the final date to apply online is July 3, 2026. Candidates are permitted to clear their prescribed application fees up to July 4, 2026.

Vacancy Distribution and Cadres: Out of the total 3,991 notified positions, 3,395 vacancies are designated under the General Karnataka division cadre (Notification No: 02/2026-27), while the remaining 596 posts are reserved under the Kalyana-Karnataka local cadre under Article 371-J (Notification No: 01/2026-27). Candidates are permitted to submit only one application for their chosen cadre.

Eligibility and Age Limitations: Candidates must have successfully passed the 12th standard, PUC, or an equivalent academic qualification from a recognized board. Applicants must have secured foundational validation in the Kannada language, having studied it as a first or second language up to the 10th standard/SSLC level, or must pass the standard language evaluation conducted by KEA. The age window for General category applicants spans from 18 to 33 years as of the recruitment deadline. Reserved categories (SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) receive a relaxation up to 35 years, while residents of the designated Karnataka Forest Areas are granted an upper limit of 38 years. Female and special reserved categories are entitled to relaxation upper ceilings extending up to 45 years based on standard guidelines.

Application Fee and Evaluation Structure: The application fee is established at ₹750 for General Merit (GM), 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B category candidates, while SC, ST, Category-1, Ex-Servicemen, and Transgender applicants must pay ₹500. The multi-stage evaluation matrix comprises an Online Written Examination (Computer-Based Test), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standards Test (PST), and final Document Verification. The CBT is scheduled to be held on August 2, 2026, consisting of 100 objective-type marks to be completed in a duration of 90 minutes. A negative evaluation criteria of 0.25 marks will be applied for every incorrect response, and a minimum threshold of 30 marks is mandatory to qualify.

Physical Fitness and Measurement Standards:

Male Candidates: Minimum height requirement of 168 cm (155 cm for Forest Area residents). Chest size must measure 86 cm when fully expanded with at least 5 cm expansion capacity. The physical activities include a 1600-meter run to be clocked within 6 minutes 30 seconds, a Long Jump of 3.80 meters, a High Jump of 1.20 meters, and a Shot Put throw (7.26 kg) extending 5.60 meters.
Female/Transgender Candidates: Minimum height requirement of 157 cm (150 cm for Forest Area residents) along with a minimum body weight of 45 kg. The test includes a 400-meter run to be completed within 2 minutes, a Long Jump of 2.50 meters, a High Jump of 0.90 meters, and a Shot Put throw (4 kg) reaching 3.75 meters.

Appointed professionals will be placed under Pay Level 7 (7th Pay Commission) with a monthly operational pay scale structure ranging from ₹37,500 to ₹76,100 along with regular increments.
