Kundapur, April 24, 2026: A 36-year-old woman, working as a part-time daily wage laborer at the Kundapur Taluk Panchayat office, has been reported missing since April 22.

The missing woman is identified as Anita R. (36), wife of Raghavendra (38). The couple, originally from Kalavara, is currently residing at Indira Nagar in Katbelthur village. On the morning of April 22, at around 8:30 AM, Anita left home for Kundapur, informing her husband that she had work at the Panchayat. She took her two children along with her.

After reaching Kundapur, she sent both children back to Kalavara by bus. However, she failed to return home by evening. Raghavendra attempted to call her at 11:30 AM, but her mobile phone was switched off. Assuming she was busy with work, he did not suspect anything initially.

When repeated attempts to reach her failed, he visited the Taluk Panchayat office to inquire, only to learn that Anita had not reported for work that day. Following an unsuccessful search among relatives and friends, Raghavendra lodged a formal missing person complaint at the Kundapur Rural Police Station.

The police have registered the case under Crime No. 23/2026 and are currently investigating the matter to trace her whereabouts.
