Kundapura, March 14, 2026: A total of 891 cases were resolved during the Lok Adalat held at the Kundapura court on Saturday, with orders passed to pay a total compensation of ₹5.39 crore. Additionally, 17,973 pre-litigation cases were settled, involving a compensation amount of ₹95.44 lakh.

The breakdown of resolved cases is as follows: 17 cases in the Additional District and Sessions Court (₹89.65 lakh), 54 cases in the Senior Civil Court (₹2.56 crore), 100 cases in the Principal Civil and JMFC Court (₹89.28 lakh), 208 cases in the Second Additional Civil and JMFC Court (₹58.86 lakh), and 512 cases in the First Additional Civil and JMFC Court (₹44.73 lakh).

A heartwarming highlight of the Adalat was the reunion of an estranged couple. Vidya from Gangolli and Nandakishore from Brahmavar, who married in 2024, had been living separately for a year and a half due to misunderstandings. Vidya had filed for divorce and alimony. During the hearing, Judge Shrutishree S. of the First JMFC Court advised the couple to reconcile and live together. Both parties agreed to the suggestion, leading to a happy resolution. Advocate Ravikiran Murdeshwar represented the parties in the case.
