MANGALURU: The Dakshina Kannada District Superintendent of Police (SP) has issued a show-cause externment (goonda/gadi-paru) notice to a Bajrang Dal activist, directing him to submit a formal response. The activist has been identified as Yatheesh Peruvai, a resident of Vitla in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. The notice was served by District SP Arun K. following an official application submitted by Vitla Sub-Inspector Prakash Devadiga, requesting the externment of Yatheesh from the district limits due to his activities.

BJP Warns of Intense Protests

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly condemned the police department’s move and threatened a massive agitation if the notice is not withdrawn. BJP leaders alleged that Yatheesh had previously exposed a corruption scandal involving the President of the Peruvai Gram Panchayat, which eventually led to her imprisonment. The party claimed that the externment process is a politically motivated act of vengeance executed under pressure. The BJP has warned the district administration of intense protests across the region if the police do not immediately halt the externment proceedings against the activist.
