Mangaluru, April 21, 2026: Maulana Maqbool Kobatte, Principal of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, described Huffaz (those who memorize the Qur’an) as living manifestations of the divine promise to preserve the Holy Scripture. He was speaking as the chief guest at the Annual Day and Hifz felicitation ceremony of Iqra Arabic School in Mangaluru.

Maulana Kobatte congratulated the students and their parents, emphasizing that the Qur’an is a comprehensive guide for life. He noted that while recitation is essential, understanding its core message and practicing it in daily life is equally vital. “The responsibility of a Hafiz begins with living according to the teachings of the Qur’an,” he stated, urging the community to uphold values like humanity and brotherhood.

Presiding over the event, Syed Mohammad Beary shared the journey of Iqra Arabic School since its inception in 2000, highlighting its goal to build community leaders. Other notable speakers included Taha Mateen, who recited Iqbal’s poetry to inspire the youth, and Dr. C P Habeeb Rahman, who stressed the need for introspection and leadership within the community.
