Ontario (Canada), March 06, 2026: Nancy Grewal, a 45-year-old prominent Indian-origin social media influencer, was fatally stabbed in the town of LaSalle, Ontario. The incident occurred just before 9:30 PM on Tuesday in the Todd Lane area.

Despite being rushed to the hospital by emergency services, Grewal succumbed to her multiple stab wounds. LaSalle Police Chief Michael Pearce stated that investigators are confident this was an intentional and targeted act of violence rather than a random attack.

Grewal was well-known within the global Punjabi community for her vocal criticism of the Khalistan movement. Following her death, a social media account promoting Sikh extremist views claimed responsibility for the killing, stating that she was targeted for her anti-Khalistan stance.

The post warned that anyone speaking against the community or the movement would meet a similar fate. Grewal’s mother, Shinderpal Kaur, and her sister, Alisha Grewal, have expressed profound grief and outrage over the brutal murder. While police are considering all leads, including the extremist claims, no arrests have been made yet.
