UDUPI: In a swift operation, the Shirva police have successfully arrested three inter-district accused in Bengaluru for cheating a petrol bunk by fleeing without paying the fuel bill. The police have also seized the Ford EcoSport car used in the crime.

The incident occurred on the night of June 27 at around 9:10 PM at a filling station located in Subhas Nagar of Kurkalu village under Karkala taluk. The three accused arrived in a Ford EcoSport car and got diesel worth ₹4,711.09 filled into their vehicle. Pretending to make the payment via QR code, they misled the petrol bunk staff and tanked up their vehicle. While the staff was distracted, they fled the spot with the car without transferring the money. Based on a complaint filed by the bunk staff, a case was registered at the Shirva Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
