GANGOLLI: A tragic road accident involving a head-on collision between two motorcycles on National Highway 66, right in front of the Arama Temple near Trasi Beach this afternoon, resulted in the death of a youth from Bhatkal and left a father and daughter injured.

The deceased has been identified as Deepak Nagappa Naik (23), son of Nagappa Naik, residing at Satumane Sambhavi in Bhatkal. The occupants of the other motorcycle have been identified as Patrick Vaz (63), son of Pedru Vaz, from Hadavu Post, Padukone, and his daughter, Miss Plencita (24). Patrick Vaz, who sustained critical head and leg injuries, has been rushed to a private hospital in Manipal for intensive care. His daughter Plencita, who sustained a leg injury, is receiving treatment at Adarsha Hospital in Kundapur.

Ibrahim Gangolli from 24×7 Helpline Emergency Response Team shifted all three victims from the accident spot to the Kundapur and Manipal hospital. Following the shifting, he successfully traced the address of the deceased youth and notified his family members about the tragedy. Meanwhile, a formal case has been registered regarding the incident at the Gangolli police station.
