Gangolli, February 3, 2026: An unidentified man snatched a gold chain from an 83-year-old woman while she was on her morning walk in the Sannakumbri area of Trasi village, Kundapur taluk, on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred on the road near Don Bosco School in Sannakumbri. Sita (83) was walking when the accused approached from behind, threatened her life, forcibly pulled the gold chain from her neck, and fled. The chain weighed approximately 22.470 grams and is valued at around ₹2 lakh.

A case has been registered at Gangolli Police Station under Section 309(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
