A massive fire likely caused by a short circuit destroyed a prominent fruit godown at the Adi-Udupi market early Sunday morning. While stock worth lakhs of rupees was completely destroyed, a major tragedy was averted as firefighters stopped the flames from spreading to nearby tightly-packed shops.
