Udupi, April 26, 2026: A major fire broke out today at the ‘Khadar Commercial’ complex, located near the City Bus Stand in the heart of Udupi. The accidental fire spread rapidly across the building, causing panic among commuters and local traders in the busy commercial area.

The fire reportedly originated in a mobile store and a hardware shop within the complex. Due to the presence of inflammable materials in the hardware store, the flames intensified quickly, blanketing the area in thick black smoke. Valuable smartphones and hardware goods worth lakhs of rupees were reduced to ashes in the blaze. A short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the incident.

Upon receiving the information, two fire tenders from the Udupi Fire Station rushed to the spot. Navigating the crowded area, fire personnel managed to douse the flames after an intense struggle. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
