Udupi, April 21, 2026: A total of 8,746 students have registered for the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2026 in Udupi district, scheduled to be held on April 23 and 24, according to Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T.K. She was presiding over a preparatory meeting regarding CET and II PUC Exam-2 arrangements at the DC office in Rajathadri, Manipal, on Tuesday.

The exams will be conducted across 23 centers in the district: 11 in Udupi, 7 in Kundapura, and 5 in Karkala. The DC instructed officials to ensure that the centers are student-friendly and well-equipped to maintain the sanctity of the examination. She emphasized that this exam is a crucial step for professional courses and must be conducted without any confusion.

Students are required to report to their respective centers two and a half hours before the commencement of the exam. The DC strictly prohibited carrying mobile phones, any kind of watches, electronic gadgets, or jewelry inside the examination hall. To compensate for the ban on watches, she ordered that functional wall clocks be installed in every classroom.

Given the intense summer heat, the DC mandated the provision of clean drinking water in all centers. MESCOM officials were directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the exam days and preparation hours. A 200-meter radius around each center will be declared a prohibited zone with police protection. Additionally, the health department has been asked to deploy health assistants at every venue.

Additional DC Abid Gadyal, ASP Sudhakar Nayak, ZP Chief Planning Officer Uday Kumar Shetty, and PUE Department Deputy Director Maruti were present at the meeting.

CCTV Mandatory: CCTV cameras are mandatory in all 23 examination centers, and webcasting will be conducted during the sessions. Furthermore, the DC instructed that question and answer papers stored in treasuries must also be under 24/7 CCTV surveillance and police guard.

CET Examination Schedule:

Thursday, April 23: Physics (10:30 AM to 11:50 AM); Chemistry (2:30 PM to 3:50 PM).
Friday, April 24: Mathematics (10:30 AM to 11:50 AM); Biology (2:30 PM to 3:50 PM).
