The marathon performance, titled “Navarasa Deepa Vaibhavam,” began at 3:30 PM on August 21, 2025, at the PG auditorium of Dr. G. Shankar Women’s College, Ajjarkad, Udupi. Deeksha crossed the 170-hour threshold on Thursday, August 28, at 5:30 PM, and aims to complete 216 hours (9 days) by August 30, 2025.

Supported by Manipal’s Ratna Sanjeev Kala Mandala, Deeksha’s performance showcases exceptional endurance and dedication to the classical art form. The previous record of 170 hours by Remona Evette Pereira, also from Karnataka, was a significant benchmark in the Golden Book of World Records. Deeksha’s ongoing effort, which emphasizes the nine rasas (emotions) of Bharatanatyam, has drawn attention for its cultural and physical feat, echoing similar record-breaking attempts in India’s performing arts scene.
