Udupi, June 30: The Udupi District Court complex received yet another bomb threat via an anonymous email on Tuesday, marking the fourth such hoax threat directed at the institution.

The threatening message was received on the official email account of the court on Tuesday morning. Upon receiving the information, the Udupi Town Police were alerted immediately. A specialized team, including the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and a canine squad, arrived at the court premises in the afternoon to conduct a thorough sweep. After an extensive inspection, no suspicious objects were found, confirming that the message was a hoax.

Similar bomb threats were previously received on June 21, June 26, and June 29. Cases have already been registered at the Udupi Town Police Station regarding the earlier threats, and the latest incidents are being investigated under the same FIR.

Commenting on the recurring threats, Udupi District Superintendent of Police (SP) Hariram Shankar stated, “Our technical team is actively investigating the source of these emails. Similar threat messages have been sent to various courts across the country. We are coordinating closely with central investigative agencies to trace the culprits.”
