Udupi, January 25, 2026: A 19-year-old scooter rider was killed on the spot in a gruesome road accident at Kalsanka Junction on National Highway when a container lorry rammed into his vehicle and ran over him.

The deceased has been identified as Avinash from Manipal. The incident occurred in front of a hotel near the junction as Avinash was riding towards Manipal.

According to preliminary reports, the container lorry coming from Udupi direction collided with the scooter. The impact caused the rider to lose control and fall onto the road, following which the lorry’s wheel reportedly ran over his head, resulting in fatal injuries. Avinash died instantly at the scene.

Udupi Traffic Police rushed to the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case.
