UDUPI: Speaking at the ‘District Jamaat Assemblage’ organized by the District Samyukta Jamaat Committee at the Al Ihsan School Auditorium in Moolur, revered leader Kumbol Thangal urged the community not to neglect the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.

He emphasized that every Jamaat, Mohalla, and local committee must properly inform people about the SIR process. He noted that it is the collective responsibility of all leaders to create awareness among the public to ensure their names are retained in the voter list by submitting the necessary verification documents to the booth-level officers well in time.

Furthermore, addressing social and domestic issues like Talaq, Faskh, and other personal or community disputes, Kumbol Thangal recommended strengthening the internal dispute resolution systems within the respective Jamaats. He maintained that issues which can be settled amicably at the local level should not be unnecessarily dragged to police stations and law courts, thereby putting an end to avoidable litigation.

The program was presided over by Haji P. Abubakkar Nejar, President of the District Samyukta Jamaat. The Assistant Qazi of Udupi district, Abdul Rahman Madani Moolur, inaugurated the convention. Prominent scholar Hamza Madani Mittur spoke on the topic ‘Mohalla Administration,’ while senior police officer Abdul Razak presented his insights on ‘Our Children are Losing Their Way.’ U.K. Mustafa Sa’adi Moolur delivered the introductory address, and K.A. Abdul Rahman Razvi Al Furqani Kalkatta led the panel discussion.

District Ulama Committee President Ismail Madani Mavinakatte, Sulaiman Sa’adi Afthali Karkala, Hafiz Ashraq Suhafi Moolur, Abdul Latheef Fahili Navunda, and Abdurrasheed Sakhafi Mazoor spoke on the occasion. SJM District President Abdul Razak Qasimi, SMA District President Hussain Monu, Haji P.H. Usman, Murad Ali Moolur, and Mansoor Meccas were present. District General Secretary Haji M.A. Bavu Moolur welcomed the gathering, Ashraf Furqani compered the event, and N.C. Rahim proposed the vote of thanks.
