Kundapur, August 25, 2025: Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar felicitated Satheesh Kharvi, an international powerlifter from Kharvikeri, Kundapur, for his remarkable achievements in powerlifting. During the event, SP Shankar expressed his joy and pride in Kharvi’s accomplishments, particularly noting his past medals and his selection to compete in the World Powerlifting Championship 2025, scheduled for November 4-9, 2025, in Durban, South Africa, at the Onomo Hotel. The championship, organized by the World Powerlifting Congress SA, will feature events like Full Power, Bench Press, and Deadlift across various categories.

The felicitation was attended by Raghavendra Shetty, State President of the Karnataka State Human Rights and Women & Child Welfare Organization, underscoring the community’s support for Kharvi’s success. Kharvi, previously honored for a gold medal at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship in Auckland, New Zealand, continues to bring pride to Udupi with his dedication to the sport.
