UDUPI: Following directives from the Election Commission to distribute voter enumeration forms for the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls (SSR-2026) within two days, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across Udupi district are conducting swift door-to-door visits to complete the process.

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Swaroopa T.K. announced that as of Monday, July 6, a total of 5,90,349 enumeration forms have been distributed out of the targeted 10,63,876, marking a progress of 55.49%. So far, 33,620 enumeration forms have been digitized. During the field verification, officials identified 195 deceased voters and 92 permanently shifted voters. Additionally, 34 voters have registered their details, while 5 voters were untraceable and 5 were identified as migrant voters.

Review Meeting: Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T.K. chaired a progress review meeting for the SSR-2026 work in the Byndoor Assembly constituency today. Newly appointed sector officers and BLO supervisors attended the session, where the DC provided comprehensive training regarding their responsibilities. Directing them to overcome technical snags and field challenges in data entry, the DC suggested prompt remedial measures. Similarly, a special training session for sector officers was conducted in the Kapu assembly constituency under the leadership of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).
