On September 8, 2025, a tree collapse in Kiravatti, Yallapur, killed Savitri Bagu Kharat (28), a pregnant woman, and Swati Babu Kharat (17), a student. Three children were seriously injured and admitted to KIMS Hospital, Hubballi, while three others received treatment for minor injuries.
