LAHAUL: One tourist died and three others sustained severe injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in met with a horrific accident near the north portal of the Atal Tunnel, police said. The deceased has been identified as Kailash (34) from Sikar, Rajasthan. The injured passengers are Aditya from Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh, along with Rajendra and the driver, Siddharth, both hailing from Sikar.

According to the police, the group of tourists was heading from Manali to Lahaul when the accident occurred. At around 10 PM, shortly after exiting the north portal of the Atal Tunnel, the vehicle veered off the road and plunged towards the Chandra River. Preliminary reports suggest that due to overspeeding, the driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn and crashed into an under-construction bridge over the river.
