BYNDOOR: In a major boost to the rural education and health sectors in Byndoor, B.S. Suresh Shetty Uppunda, President of ‘Samruddha Byndoor’, announced that approximately ₹20 crore from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds has been utilized for various development projects in the constituency.
Highlights of the Press Meet: Speaking at a press conference in Uppunda on February 5, Suresh Shetty detailed how private partnerships are bridging the gap caused by the shortage of government grants:
- School Infrastructure: Under the ‘300 Trees’ project of Samruddha Byndoor, over 100 government schools are being equipped with smart classes, computer labs, libraries, and new furniture. Post the ‘Byndoor Utsava’, an additional ₹3 crore has been secured for school development.
- Corporate Contributions: Robosoft Technologies has contributed over ₹1 crore for a model school building. MRPL and Can Fin Homes Ltd have provided ₹1 crore and ₹1.5 crore respectively for solar backup systems and sanitation facilities in colleges.
- Healthcare & Mobility: In collaboration with KMC Manipal, dialysis units have been established. Additionally, high-tech blood testing equipment has been donated to the Byndoor Community Health Centre. Bicycles will also be distributed to selected rural students.
- Connectivity: Addressing the long-standing demand for footbridges (Kalu Sanka), the Dr. R. Arunachalam Charitable Trust aims to complete 25 new bridges this year.
Shetty thanked organizations like Swayam Spoorthi Foundation and Youth for Seva for their continued partnership in making Byndoor a developed constituency.
