BYNDOOR: Following severe crop damage triggered by recent heavy rains and fierce gale winds, Byndoor constituency MLA Gururaj Gantihole on Wednesday visited the affected agricultural fields in Ajri village to assess the wreckage and interact with distressed farmers.

The torrential weather has caused extensive destruction to commercial plantations, uprooting numerous arecanut, coconut, and banana crops across Ednali, Haklu Mane, and Makki Mane pockets of Ajri village. During his spot inspection, the legislator spent time listening to the grievances of the local farmers whose primary sources of livelihood have been systematically hit by the monsoon fury.

Responding to the agrarian distress, MLA Gantihole directed the respective department officials to immediately execute joint field inspections and draft a comprehensive damage assessment report. He strictly instructed the authorities to expedite administrative work so that the affected farmers receive appropriate government compensation and financial relief in accordance with state disaster mitigation norms without any technical delays.
