BYNDOOR: The installation ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of the prestigious Rotary Club Byndoor for the year 2026-27 was held at the Rotary Bhavana here. Arun Kumar Shiroor officially took charge as the new president of the club.

Dr. Umesh Puthran, former Assistant Governor and Managing Director of Kundapura Chinmayi Hospital, conducted the installation ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Rotary is an international organization with the noble vision of building a healthy society. Under its banner, a major movement of social welfare activities has emerged globally. Byndoor Rotary Club is one of the premier senior institutions in the district and has consistently engaged itself in exemplary community-oriented services.”

Chief guest K. Babu Shetty, President of the Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple Management Committee, noted that the institution, built and nurtured over the last four decades by veterans in the Byndoor region, has earned a distinct identity through high-quality programs. He wished the club greater success under the new leadership.

Community Service and Student Felicitation: Marking the occasion, the club organized a talent felicitation program, honoring high-achieving SSLC and PUC students from the Byndoor region. Financial assistance was also distributed to underprivileged students. Additionally, the Rotary Club donated a wheelchair to the Byndoor Community Health Centre.

Rotary Zone 1 Assistant Governor Shrinath Rao, Zone Lieutenant Prashanth Havaldar, Immediate Past President Subramanya G. Uppunda, and Immediate Past Secretary Pradeep Kumar Shetty Karikatte were present on the dais.

Retired teacher Ananda Maddodi and Sudhakara P. Byndoor compered the program. The newly appointed Secretary, Manikanta Devadiga, proposed the vote of thanks.
