Dandeli: Police Bust Inter-District Bike Theft Gang, Arrest Five and Recover Six Stolen Bikes

Dandeli police arrested five members of an inter-district bike theft gang operating in Bengaluru, Belagavi, and Dandeli, recovering six stolen motorcycles, including Royal Enfield and Hero Honda models. The accused, from Kalaghatagi, Dharwad, were remanded to judicial custody.

Dandeli, August 29, 2025 – Dandeli police successfully dismantled an inter-district bike theft gang responsible for stealing high-value motorcycles across Bengaluru, Belagavi, Dandeli, and other parts of Karnataka. Five suspects, identified as Abhishek V. Pawar, Wilson J., Gaus Mohammad Bepari, Devendra L. Lamani, and Mohammad Tousif, all from Kalaghatagi taluk, Dharwad district, were arrested on August 26, 2025. The operation led to the recovery of six stolen bikes, including models from Royal Enfield, HF Deluxe, and Hero Honda, registered in various districts.

The breakthrough followed a complaint by Hussain Sab, a resident of Allied Road, Dandeli, about his stolen motorcycle. PSI Ameen Sab Attar, under the guidance of SP Deepan, led the investigation, resulting in the apprehension of the gang. The accused were presented before a court, which ordered judicial custody. The operation was executed by a team including DYSP Shivanand Madarkhandi, CPI Jayapal Patil, PSIs Ameen Sab and Kiran Patil, and other police personnel. The recovered bikes were linked to thefts across multiple districts, highlighting the gang’s extensive network.
