New Delhi, March 13, 2026: IndiGo, India’s leading airline, is introducing a fuel charge on domestic and international routes, effective 00:01 hrs on 14th March 2026. This measure is a response to the significant surge in fuel prices following ongoing geopolitical issues in the Middle East. According to IATA’s Jet Fuel Monitor, fuel prices in the region have increased by more than 85%.

As per the statement, Aviation Turbine Fuel represents a significant portion of an airline’s operating costs, and this steep increase has a material impact on IndiGo’s network and overall costs. While offsetting the full impact would require a substantial fare hike, IndiGo has introduced a relatively smaller fuel charge to minimize the burden on its customers.

Starting March 14, 2026, 00:01 hrs, all new bookings on IndiGo flights will include the following additional fuel charge per sector:
