Kalaburagi: Bengaluru Man Arrested for Derogatory Posts Against Scheduled Caste Leaders on Facebook

Kalaburagi, February 02, 2026: A Bengaluru-based individual has been arrested by Suburban Police Station officers in Kalaburagi for allegedly posting insulting and derogatory content targeting prominent leaders from the Scheduled Caste community on his Facebook account under the name ‘Gulamara Appa’.

The arrested person has been identified as Anand Anjanappa (41), a resident of Vidyamanya Nagar, Bengaluru. He was working as a senior IT executive in a private company on Race Course Road, Bengaluru, according to police sources.

Anand Anjanappa had created a Facebook account under the name ‘Gulamara Appa’ and was regularly posting abusive, defamatory, and derogatory remarks against Dr. Ambedkar, Scheduled Caste community leaders, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Minister Priyank Kharge.

Dalit Sena district president Manjunath Bhandari lodged a complaint at Suburban Police Station regarding these posts. Acting swiftly on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and conducted a rapid operation, leading to the arrest of the accused in Bengaluru.
