NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra joined the ongoing CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, extending her support to social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is on a hunger strike demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister.

Addressing the protesters, Moitra criticized the central government, stating that those in power are blinded by authority and remain oblivious to the issues surrounding them. Referring to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s birthday, she remarked that the birthday cake cannot be made with the blood of children. She urged the protesters not to let anyone label them, stating that their only identity is being Hindustani, and advised them to stay committed to their cause without giving up the struggle.

CJP founder Abheet Diptke strongly condemned the paper leak allegations and the minister’s reported statements labeling the protesters as the ‘B-team’ of terrorists. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Diptke stated that while Dharmendra Pradhan calls them terrorists, it remains an irony that the blood of over 17 students is on the minister’s hands. He added that the protesters do not require patriotism certificates from those responsible for the deaths of innocent students.
