Manipal: Case Registered Against Scooter Owner for Allowing Minor to Ride Without Licence

Manipal, February 2, 2026: A case has been registered against a scooter owner for allegedly permitting a minor to ride the vehicle without a driving licence, following a spot check by Manipal police.

On February 2, 2026, around 4:45 PM, PSI Thimmesh B.N. along with staff, while on rounds duty near Parkala Junction in Heraga village, noticed a scooter being ridden erratically and intercepted it.

The rider, ▓▓▓▓ (16), was found to be a minor and was operating the vehicle without a driving licence or learner’s permit.

In this context, a case has been booked against the scooter owner Usha (45) at Manipal Police Station (Crime No. 14/2026) under Sections 4, 180, 184, and 199(A) of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further legal action is being taken.
