Udupi, February 26, 2026: Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, and its affiliated hospitals have officially renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide secondary care medical services under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESIS). According to a press release from KMC, the cashless admission facility for ESI beneficiaries has resumed effective from February 25, 2026.

The renewal process had been temporarily delayed due to certain administrative reasons, causing concern among workers and various labor organizations who had urged for immediate restoration of services. Following approval from the concerned authorities, the service is now back on track. This development brings significant relief to thousands of workers in the district who rely on KMC for specialized medical care.

Dr. Sudhakar Kantipudi, Chief Operating Officer of Teaching Hospitals, stated that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure seamless service for ESIS beneficiaries. Eligible members can avail of treatment at Kasturba Hospital Manipal, Dr. T.M.A. Pai Rotary Hospital in Karkala, and Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital in Kateel by obtaining a referral letter from their respective ESI dispensaries. Beneficiaries are advised to contact their dispensaries for documentation or visit the hospital help desks for assistance regarding admission.
