SIRSI: In a major breakthrough, a special team of the Mumbai Police contextually raided Sirsi town in Uttara Kannada district and apprehended a key accused who was absconding in connection with a high-profile gold theft case in Mumbai.

According to police sources, a substantial cache of gold jewelry weighing around 1.5 kg was stolen from a prominent jewelry showroom in Mumbai recently. While tracking the suspects, the Mumbai police investigation cell received pinpoint intelligence indicating that one of the prime suspects was hiding in a residential locality in Sirsi.
