Vandse: M.S. Manja Charitable Trust Donates Ambulance to NirAmaya Society

On September 1, 2025, M.S. Manja Charitable Trust donated an ambulance to NirAmaya Society’s Community Palliative Care Centre in Vandse, Kundapur. The initiative, set to operate across seven gram panchayats, aims to deliver critical healthcare services to rural areas, with an official launch planned by month-end.

Kundapur, September 1, 2025 – The M.S. Manja Charitable Trust, Chittoor, handed over an ambulance to NirAmaya Society’s Community Palliative Care Centre in Vandse during a ceremony on September 1, 2025. The event was inaugurated by Trust President Maranakatte Krishnamurthy Manja, who emphasized the importance of delivering healthcare to homes in rural areas. He stated, “This project is crucial for today’s needs, bringing health services directly to the community. As Karnataka’s first such initiative, we hope it thrives, benefiting those in need through education, health, and social welfare efforts.”

NirAmaya Society President Uday Kumar Shetty, who presided over the event, noted that the community palliative care model, successfully implemented in Kerala, is being piloted in Karnataka at Vandse on a cluster level. The centre will serve Vandse, Chittoor, Idoor-Kunjady, Alur, Haklady, Hemmadi, and Keradi gram panchayats, with an official launch planned before the end of September 2025.

Attendees included NirAmaya Society honorary members Dr. Atul Kumar Shetty and Dr. Rajesh Bayari Chittoor, THO Dr. Premanand, Satyashree from Karnataka Health Promotion Trust, Naveen from Arivu Collaborative (Bengaluru), Pallium India (Trivandrum) trainers Dr. Shithal Raj, Dr. Arjun, and Shiny, along with Vandse Gram Panchayat President Geeta Avinash, Chittoor Gram Panchayat President Raviraj Shetty, Alur Gram Panchayat President Rajesh Devadiga, Haklady Gram Panchayat Vice President Subhash Shetty, Vandse Gram Panchayat Vice President Govardhan Jogi, Chittoor Gram Panchayat Vice President Subbu, and primary health centre medical officers, panchayat development officers, and CHOs. The program was hosted by teacher Pratap Kumar Shetty, with Uday Kumar Shetty delivering the welcome and vote of thanks.
