WPL 2026 Final: Defending Champions RCB to Clash with Delhi Capitals for the Title

New Delhi: The stage is set for a high-voltage finale in the Women’s Premier League 2026. Delhi Capitals secured their spot in the summit clash for the fourth consecutive time after a dominant 7-wicket victory over Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator on Tuesday. They will now face the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), in the final at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Thursday, February 5.

Delhi’s Dominant Run: Chasing a target of 169, Delhi Capitals made short work of the pursuit, reaching the goal in just 15.4 overs. Explosive opening stands from Shafali Verma (31 off 21) and Lizelle Lee (43 off 24) provided a flying start with an 89-run partnership. Skipper Jemimah Rodrigues (41) and Laura Wolvaardt (32*) ensured a clinical finish to dump Gujarat out of the tournament.

Battle of the Best: The final will see a tactical battle between two close friends, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues. While RCB aims to defend their crown and secure a second title, Delhi Capitals are desperate to break their “final jinx.” Despite being the most consistent team in WPL history by reaching every final so far, Delhi is yet to lift the trophy.
