Yadgir, April 17, 2026: In a tragic road accident, six people lost their lives after their car collided head-on with a private bus and caught fire in Devapur village of Surpur taluk in Yadgir district.

The car was reportedly traveling from Yadgir to Raichur when it crashed into a private bus heading from Bengaluru to Kalaburagi. The impact of the collision was so severe that the car burst into flames almost immediately, leaving the occupants with no chance to escape.

All six individuals in the car died on the spot. Although local residents rushed to the scene to help, the intensity of the fire made rescue efforts nearly impossible. Fire and emergency services eventually arrived and managed to extinguish the blaze after several hours of operation.

The bodies of the deceased have been shifted for postmortem examination, and officials are working to identify the victims and notify their families. While the private bus sustained significant damage to its front, no fatalities were reported among its passengers. Some bus passengers sustained minor injuries and were provided with medical treatment.
